Two-step crystal nucleation kinetics: Solution of the master equation

چکیده

The master equation of two-step nucleation is numerically solved with parameters characterizing isothermal homogeneous ice crystals and water droplets in steam below the freezing temperature. time dependences crystal droplet size distributions rates as well rate are determined at different constant supersaturations. stationary values these obtained a wide supersaturation range. It found that when crystallization slower than their growth, orders magnitude lower corresponding one-step nucleation. As to droplets, it practically unaffected by nucleating growing both steam. Finally, delay times processes low high supersaturations negative because presence initial peak nonstationary this process. results provide unprecedented mechanistic insight into kinetics
